The First Snow

I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, ‘go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.
— Lewis Caroll

A bit late now - but this was the first big snow event of the winter season, albeit it was in 2022… and we find ourselves in 2023.

But in all seriousness, snow falling - is one of my favorite things to capture, especially when I have willing subjects - even if they only work for treats. Soft snow - the bokeh it can create is bewitching - floating in the air. I sometimes imagine that the flakes themselves are frozen fairy breaths…reminding us that if we only recompose our sight - what was once indiscernible becomes unequivocal.
