Hello, Ms. Molly.
“I know not all that may be coming, but be it what it will, I’ll go to it laughing”
So this year we did a thing…
Ms. Molly has been adopted into our family, and we couldn’t be happier. Molly is a little on the chunky side, but is built for endurance. Molly is an older gal, she has seen her fair share of shag carpets, ombre tones and many a meal produced from a cream of something can - but she is still young at heart, and ready to adventure.
A few kinks, wrinkles and a few love taps - Molly was ready for her first adventure, a weekend beside a mountain lake, the last open weekend of the year.
A chance of snow in the air, ten year old semi tires, mountain roads, a puppy and another moment of what have I got ourselves into - we were off.
I will say - waking up warm, with hot water, a breakfast eaten in leisure and not hurried burning bites, huddled around a campfire - was pretty luxurious. However - sleeping in a bed with a puppy who wakes up every few moments so excited his people are with him in his bed - did not make a restful sleep.
Field Notes from a HemiDog,
Wow. this bed is so comfy - I can roll all over it all at once! OH LOOK! MY HUMANS ARE IN BED WITH ME! Do you think they know this? I must tell them! I AM SO EXCITED! Hey guys! It is Hemi! And we are cuddling!!!! IS THIS NOT THE MOST EXCITING SLEEP YOU HAVE EVER HAD??
The weekend with Molly was pretty wonderful, albeit a little more sleep would have been nice - but that is a work in progress. Walking along the banks of a mountain lake, sitting next to a fire, drinking warm coffee in our small ombre - toned vintage kitchenette, while 1970’s dust motes twinkle in the air - was pretty cool. I cannot wait to see what adventures happen on the road with Ms. Molly - and also what Ms. Molly has hiding in her tickle trunk.
