New York - A Sneak Peek

“Each neighborhood of the city appeared to be made of a different substance, each seemed to have a different air pressure, a different psychic weight: the bright lights and shuttered shops, the housing projects and luxury hotels, the fire escapes and city parks.”

― Teju Cole, Open City

Cody and I went to New York, as well as Philadelphia and Washington for our honeymoon.

Over the course of two weeks I took way too many photos, ate a ton of hot dogs, walked countless steps and developed a new fondness for iced coffee. But it was an amazing trip. Everything about New York was as it should be; it is brash, contemplative, loud and unerringly eclectic. Even its slightly smelly underbelly (the subway system) won me over. We loved every minuet of it

I discovered a love for unusual doors, sun flares, fire escapes and the impudent beauty of graffiti murals.
