Yesterday was a very important day! Mr. Atticus turns one, and you only turn one once, so we had to do something special. It seemed a Cake Smash was in order. Amy worked incredibly hard on the backdrop, creating a handsewn felt mountain. It was embroidered with a spunky number one, surrounded by gold letters and bordered by balloons. How can one possibly go wrong with balloons?

The cake was delicious. Beautiful sky hues topped with a hand drawn dinosaur and a bright and glowing number one. Atticus could not stop himself from getting his hands on all the sticky gooey goodness.

Amy and Nate - congratulations on your son's first birthday. He is going to grow into a wonderful human being, and I cannot wait to see who he becomes.

Atticus - congratulations on your first birthday. You have brought your parents so much joy and delight. Their world has deepened and broadened in many unique, intangible and pure ways. There is a profound way in which you are surrounded by love, an honor to evince and photograph. My birthday wish to you;  may you never forget to laugh with abandon, may you never stop exploring and may you never forget your love of pumpkin pie.
