Dar & Harley
A person can learn a lot from a dog, even a loopy one like ours. Marley taught me about living each day with unbridled exuberance and joy, about seizing the moment and following your heart. He taught me to appreciate the simple things-a walk in the woods, a fresh snowfall, a nap in a shaft of winter sunlight. And as he grew old and achy, he taught me about optimism in the face of adversity. Mostly, he taught me about friendship and selflessness and, above all else, unwavering loyalty.
- John Grogan, Marley and Me
A few weeks ago, I was invited into Dar's home to photograph her and her lovely little man, Harley. It was an enjoyable morning, full of walk escapades, browsing old photographs and snuggles on the couch.
Dogs are truly grounding creatures - full of enduring love and a wellspring of devotion to the important things in life - walks, treats and running through the grass. Who teach us the importance of hugs and snuggles for our souls. The bond that grows overtime between a dog and their person is rich in meaning, support and an unyielding faithfulness. They truly are our heartbeats at our feet and leave definite and lasting paw prints upon our souls.
Thank you Dar for welcoming me into your home to take photographs of the special bond between you and Harley.
